Welcome ...

“I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t see the division between mind and body anymore. As a result, my approach to bodywork incorporates information about nearly anything in a person’s life that is or has had an impact on them.”

Through thorough communication, intuition & integration of multiple techniques, I create sessions unique to your needs!

Trained at the Fingerlakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY, I am now living and practicing independently in NYC.

Through my eclectic, integrated approach, I create sessions that insure my clients receive massage & bodywork that addresses their unique, individual needs each and every time we work together! I incorporate communication, intuition and multiple massage modalities. The modalities that I integrate, depending on the persons needs, are Swedish, Cranio-Sacral, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Connective-Tissue & Deep-Tissue Therapy, Hydro Therapy, Prenatal Massage, Sports Massage, Medical Massage (including massage for cancer patients), Kineaesthetic Awareness Through Movement and Aroma Therapy.

“I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t see the division between mind and body anymore. As a result, my approach to bodywork incorporates information about nearly anything in a person’s life that is or has had an impact on them.”

Kunji’s treatments are an integrative mix--influenced by Swedish and Ayurvedic massage, she incorporates elements of shiatsu, deep tissue massage, connective tissue and neuromuscular therapy, and Trager. Kunji takes great care in creating an environment that is safe and welcoming. Depending on her client’s needs and wishes, she may work the entire body or specific areas.

Motivated by a passion toward holistic health, a love of learning, and a desire to deepen her awareness she has led her own personal study. Her work with personal trainers, acupuncturists, yoga instructors, mental health professionals, physical therapists, chiropractors and other bodyworkers have greatly informed her understanding as a massage therapist. This same passion led her to training at the National Institute fo Ayurvedic Medicine in NYC with Dr. Scott Gerson, MD, and she looks forward to starting her CranioSacral Therapy certification in the fall of ’07.

A graduate of Finger Lakes School of Massage, Kunji previously managed a Community Food Co-op in Buffalo, NY, where she was involved in front-line debates regarding national organic standards, hormonal content in food, and food’s role in our overall health. It was this role that sent her on a journey inward and allowed her the opportunity to develop a healthier relationship with food and her body—an experience that now also informs her as a bodyworker, and health care professional.
